What do those letters and acronyms mean at the end of your real estate agent’s name?
Like other professionals, real estate agents have the ability to specialize in certain areas of the business by earning advanced designations and special certifications. Those acronyms signify that they have achieved a specific designation through extensive training and education and by demonstrating their experience through documented performance. In simple terms, designations enable agents to increase their skills, proficiency, and knowledge in various real estate sectors. They can also provide agents with access to members-only marketing tools and resources which can be an added benefit to their clients.
These professional Designations are endorsements made most often by the NAR, or National Association of Realtors, an organization that adheres to a strict code of ethics and encourages growth in real estate knowledge for its members. Real Estate professionals who are members of NAR are REALTORS®.
When you see initials like these behind a REALTORS® name, it means that this person is a committed professional, not content just to take the courses needed to get and maintain a real estate license, but determined to improve their professional skills and the quality of service they provide to their clients and customers. Time, effort, travel, and expense have been invested to attend courses, take and pass exams and achieve specified levels of performance and professional achievement in order to earn each designation and certification. This translates into a professional with advanced knowledge and expertise to assist you in protecting your biggest asset and negotiate on behalf of your best interests!
